Setcoin Group
Counterparty & capital-partner intelligence

Know who you're signing with.

Every corporate registration, sanctions listing, court docket and ownership filing is already public. Nobody reads all of it before a signature — we do, cross-referenced against Setcoin's own infrastructure graph, and turn it into one scored report the same day, not weeks.

See what we check

Not a sanctions-screening system of record — a basic list check is one part of a wider read on identity, ownership, litigation and exposure.

Who it's for

The question changes shape. The method doesn't.

Infrastructure & energy

Developers & lenders

Is this offtaker, EPC or co-investor already somewhere in the record — sanctioned, in litigation, or already exposed to a project you're tracking. Checked against Setcoin's own infrastructure graph, not just a generic registry.

"Full Profile before financial close — the deepest tier, cross-referenced against the pipeline you're already in."
Private equity & M&A

Deal teams & general counsel

Litigation history and beneficial-ownership resolution on a target or co-investor before the exclusivity clock starts — the research phase of legal DD, done before you engage outside counsel.

"Snapshot the target the day the teaser lands. Full Profile once you're in exclusivity."
Venture capital & family offices

Investment teams

Co-investor litigation history, entity registrations and sanctions exposure — plus, on the other side of the table, validating a capital partner who approached you first.

"One Snapshot per term sheet, before the round, not after."
How a scan runs

Identity first, the graph-aware sources last.

One scan, roughly four minutes of automated work per subject, reviewed before it reaches you. Every adapter runs on free primary sources — no paid data reseller, no shortcuts silently taken.

01

Resolve the entity

GLEIF, Companies House, SEC EDGAR and Wikidata — a legal-entity key, not a name match.

02

Walk the ownership chain

Parents, children and major shareholders — every hop written as a cited relationship.

03

Screen the whole chain

Sanctions and export-control lists, mirrored weekly — every entity in the chain, not just the one you typed.

04

Read the record

Federal and UK court dockets, awards, political committees, adverse media.

05

Check the Setcoin graph

Is this counterparty already in Atlas, a permit, an offtake contract or a raise we track.

06

Score and report

One rubric, one verdict, and exactly what wasn't checked — never a guess dressed up as a clean bill of health.

Not hypothetical

What the engine actually caught.

Three real checks we've run. Names are held back here the way we'd hold back yours — the findings are exactly as they happened.

A company we were about to hireCounterparty check
Cleared to proceed

A real, legally registered company with named public shareholders. Two lawsuits on file, including one still open — disclosed, not hidden. No match on any sanctions list. Cleared.

An investor who approached us directlyCapital-partner check
Stopped for review

No trace of this entity in any public registry beyond one filing, inactive for over a decade. Three of the four things they told us about themselves didn’t hold up. A dozen classic signs of a fake-investor approach. Flagged before a single conversation went further.

Risk score — 55 / 100
LowEscalateStop
A supplier flagged before contracts were signedCounterparty check
Stopped outright

Their exact legal name matched an entry on a government sanctions list — a name also used by unrelated companies elsewhere. We don’t assume that’s a coincidence; a fatal match stops the process for identity confirmation before any commercial step.

The other direction

Someone offered you capital. Is the offer real?

Unsolicited investors and lenders are one of the fastest-growing sources of fraud. Give us the approach and the claims made; we test each one against the record that would have to exist if it were true.

1
Regulatory status, where it's requiredSEC IAPD/BrokerCheck, FCA, FINMA — or, for a family office, the family and holding company must be nameable instead.
2
Public evidence of capital13F-HR, Form ADV, LEI, fund relationships, Form D as issuer — absence isn't disproof, but proof then has to come from them.
3
Claim consistencyEach stated role or holding checked against ownership filings, holder lists and regulator registers. One contradicted claim is enough to stop.
4
Contact integrityDomain age, mail server, legal form vs. jurisdiction, phone country vs. stated country.
5
Solicitation patternThe known signs of a fake-investor approach — no fees, rate sheets on first contact, every-sector appetite. Flagged only when several co-occur.

Public records, read by our own engines

Everything below is public. Reading all of it isn't.

Free primary sources only — no paid data reseller in the loop, and every one of these runs on every check, not just the ones we mention. Setcoin's reconciliation engine matches entities across them, and each check is read against our knowledge graph of projects, sponsors and investors.

Setcoin Verify

What Verify checks, and what it costs

What does Setcoin Verify check?

Regulatory status where it is required (SEC, FCA, FINMA registers), public evidence of capital (13F, Form ADV, LEI, Form D), whether each stated role or holding matches ownership filings and registers, contact integrity (domain age, legal form, phone country), sanctions screening, and the known signs of a fake-investor approach.

How much does a Verify check cost?

A Verify Snapshot is $2,500 per report. A Full Profile is $8,500 per engagement, and Verify Watch is $1,200 a month per counterparty.

Who uses Setcoin Verify?

Lenders and funds checking a sponsor before a first call, developers checking an EPC contractor or investor, and vendors checking a buyer before shipping equipment.

What sources does Verify use?

Regulator registers, securities filings, ownership and holder records, sanctions lists and the Setcoin Atlas record of projects, permits, offtake and raises. Every finding cites its source.
