Equipment demand & the lead-time wall

Each project's modeled CAPEX broken into the equipment categories that sector actually buys, summed across everything currently in view. The horizon shows when an order placed today would land — a power transformer tendered this quarter is a 2031 delivery. Click any category to see which projects are behind the number.

Bankability screen

Projects sorted by how far their consents have travelled on the public record. Tier 1 is the shared target for pre-EPC lenders and equipment vendors alike; tier 4 (EPC awarded) is where construction and term-debt lenders look instead. The index measures what the public record proves — consents, grid position, filed offtake — not a credit opinion.

Delivery capacity, not just demand

EPC capacity in demand, by archetype

Equipment demand only becomes a schedule once someone can build it. This maps the filtered pipeline against the contractor archetypes that actually deliver each sector.

Observed a register or filing proves it ·Partial a sponsor statement or an incomplete record ·Not observed ·Not required. Required capital = estimated capex less capital evidenced as committed (closed debt, approved grants, disclosed committed equity); "Sponsor-funded" where the owner builds for its own use from its balance sheet. Capex marked "est." is modelled from capacity where no figure is published.

Methodology

Public filings in, proprietary intelligence out.

Every record traces back to a queue entry, permit, register row, award or contract filing — nothing is purchased data-as-a-service. What turns those filings into a usable record is ours: reconciliation engines, scoring algorithms and a knowledge graph that gets richer with every project we assess.23 public source systems, grouped below into six categories with their live record counts — and, per country, what is and is not yet covered.

How the modeled CAPEX and equipment figures are built
Public filings state capacity (MW), acreage, well counts and award amounts — almost never CAPEX. Where a record carries filed MW, CAPEX is modeled at a flat all-in rate per sector ($10m/MW for data centres on IT load, $1.4m/MW solar and wind, $1.2m/MW storage, $1.5m/MW thermal); CO₂ storage projects at $60m plus $40m per permitted well; CHIPS awards grossed up by a 15% federal cost share. Records with none of those carry no CAPEX and are shown but not summed. Equipment categories are fixed sector shares of that CAPEX. Every such figure is labelledmodeled on this page; nothing modeled is presented as filed.

Frequently asked

Everything worth knowing about the map.

Straight answers — sourced from this page, not marketing copy.

01What is Setcoin Atlas?
A live map of infrastructure development read from the public record — interconnection queues, permits, procurement notices and award registers — scored with a Bankability Index. Nothing is licensed third-party data; every figure traces to a citable public document.
02Is Setcoin Atlas free to use?
Yes. The map, filters, Bankability screen and equipment views are free with no account. Developer, sponsor and citation-source detail on individual records is available to registered accounts.
03How many infrastructure projects does Setcoin Atlas track in Europe?
101,011 projects have been scored in Europe from the public record; 19,738 are currently pre-construction or in construction and shown on the live map.
04What is the Bankability Index?
A 0–100 score built only from the four consent gates shown on each record — not a credit opinion, and not a separate hidden number. Permits and grid connection are worth 35 points each; filed offtake and EPC award are worth 15 points each (offtake is weighted lower because it's the least public gate — PPAs are usually private). Tier 1 (permits and grid on record, EPC still open) scores 85 and is the primary target for both lenders structuring pre-EPC finance and vendors bidding the tender.
05Which sectors does Setcoin Atlas cover?
Data centres, Power & renewables, Grid & transmission, Semiconductors, Hydrogen & ammonia, Renewable fuels & SAF, CO₂ storage (Class VI), Transmission, Water, Advanced manufacturing.
06Which regions does Setcoin Atlas cover?
Six live regions today, built from the same public-record pipeline and gate model: United States, Europe, Canada, Latin America & Mexico, Middle East & Africa, Asia-Pacific.
07How is the data sourced?
Every project is read from public filings — interconnection queues, permits, procurement notices and award registers — never licensed third-party data. The Atlas reads 23 public source systems. Public filings are the starting point; Setcoin's proprietary reconciliation engines resolve each project, company and counterparty across registers, our own algorithms score it, and a knowledge graph that compounds with every screen and diligence file adds context no single register holds.
08What is an interconnection queue?
The public list an ISO or utility keeps of every generation, storage or large-load project waiting for a grid connection study and agreement. It's one of the earliest reliable public signals that a project is real, which is why Atlas reads these queues directly rather than press releases.
09How often is the map updated?
The snapshot refreshes with the weekly pipeline run; source and citation counts are pulled from the current registry.
10Is the Bankability Index investment advice?
No. The Bankability Index scores what a project shows on the public record — its four consent gates — so lenders, sponsors and vendors read the same project the same way. It is not a credit opinion or a recommendation.
11Are project and developer names shown publicly?
No. The public map aggregates every project to sector, stage and location only. Developer, sponsor and citation-source identity is available to registered accounts.
12Can I access Setcoin Atlas data by API?
Yes, for registered accounts. The equipment, capital-markets and regional intelligence modules ship with scheduled export or API access, priced per module or as a fixed annual fee.
